Our coffees come from some of Cameroon's most important growing regions. The diversity of microclimates, volcanic soils, and high altitudes make these regions ideal for high-quality Arabica and Robusta varieties.

Below we present the regions of origin of our coffees.

Arabica regions

Awing belongs to the Arabica-dominated North West Region , which is part of the Western Highlands, Cameroon’s most important Arabica region. Numerous small farmers work there, cultivating Arabica at altitudes between 1,200 and 2,000 meters – under ideal conditions of a cool climate, abundant rainfall, and fertile volcanic soils.

Arabica coffee beans from this region are known for:

fine acidity ,

floral and fruity aromas ,

complex, balanced cup profiles.

Mbouda lies in the heart of the Western Highlands and is one of the regions supplied by cooperatives such as the Grassfields Co-op . The coffee grows on fertile volcanic soils and is predominantly processed using the washed method to produce particularly clear and aromatic profiles.

Typical characteristics:

clean, bright cups,

Notes of citrus, caramel & light spice,

Aromatic Arabica coffees grown at altitudes of approximately 1,150–2,000 m.

The mountains around Bamenda are among the most important Arabica growing regions in Cameroon. Altitudes above 1,200 m , strong day-night temperature fluctuations, and mineral-rich soils create ideal conditions for dense, aromatic Arabica beans.

The coffee show:

bright, lively acidity ,

fruity & floral notes,

Complex, elegant profiles through slower ripening.

Robusta regions

Melong is one of Cameroon’s key Robusta growing regions, characterized by a tropical climate, dense vegetation, and nutrient-rich soils. Studies show that Melong boasts high biodiversity and stable agroforestry systems – ideal conditions for Robusta coffee.

Robusta from Melong is:

strong

earthy-nutty,

full-bodied and stable in the crema.

Although Bamenda is primarily known for Arabica, Robusta is also cultivated in the lower-lying peripheral areas of the Bamenda Basin. These areas have warmer temperatures and higher humidity – perfect for Robusta plants, which thrive at lower altitudes.
Robusta is generally very common in Cameroon, accounting for around 80% of national production .

Typical taste:

strong body

Cocoa and wood notes,

Ideal for espresso blends.

Magba lies near the western coffee zones that are ideal for Robusta cultivation. The region is part of the warm, humid growing areas where Robusta thrives. Although Magba itself is less frequently mentioned in publications, studies show that comparable regions (eg, Ayos, Melong, Nkongsamba) offer the classic climatic conditions for Robusta that also prevail in Magba.

Robusta from this zone offers:

strong, earthy cups,

stable crema

Ideal base for strong espressos.

Conclusion: One country – Two characters
